Have You Heard These Bands? I know this is a little out of the areas in which I usually write, but I thought it would be a fun interlude between regular columns. I am in communication with a ton of international Wizard Rockers, but that story is taking longer than I planned, so I hope you enjoy my time just having fun writing for you!

Commenter jbg would like you to look at this movie he made, which appears to be sort of a low-production-value music video for “Similar” by Ed in the Refrigerators, a band that reminded me a bit of a cross between the Pixies and Weezer.

Both reviews this time are movies that deal, in some form or fashion, with music. The first is a documentary about a specific type of music that’s been exploding into popularity around the world, while the second is a musical that’s been pretty popular for years now (and I’m assuming pretty much everybody has seen it by now, so there are some pretty obvious spoilers).

Shortly after Wrockstock, Justin Finch-Fletchley announced that he would no longer be performing at Wrock Chicago. As of this week, The Hermione Crookshanks Experience and Ginny and the HeartBreakers have joined the list of cancellations. In the same announcement, the HeartBreakers informed the public that they will no longer be performing as a band.
