After missing out on Mark Kotsay, and shying away from Aubrey Huff due to his 2009 salary, the Phillies have acquired the left-handed bat off the bench they were looking for.  Reports are the Phillies acquired outfielder Matt Stairs from the Blue Jays for a player to be named later.

What an awesome night for the Baltimore Orioles as they scored 11 runs and defeated the Chicago White Sox 11-3. The Orioles were able to avoid the three game sweep as they showed the White Sox a big butt kicking on Wednesday night. Right from the beginning the Orioles offense jumped all over White Sox starting pitcher John Danks.

If you want the honest truth, I never figured this to go down any other way. Hillary Clinton gets up and makes her speech last night, introduces herself as a ‘proud Obama Supporter’. She makes a plea for unity.  And her supporters aren’t buying. The speech, after all, was as Ben Smith says, a study of low expectations.

With Sunday’s trading deadline on the horizon, it’s no secret the Phillies have needs; most notably in the outfield. With Geoff Jenkins sidelined with a hip flexor strain, the Phils are using Jayson Werth at the every day right fielder, and So Taguchi has effectively become the team’s fourth outfielder.
