Green Flash “Le Freak”
http://www.sevenpack.net/ ?p=1771Unfortunately, tonight I ran into a case of the ‘bad 6-packs’. I bought a few tasty bottles of a local brew that I especially love, and I was psyched to crack open a couple. But, woe is me, it appears said brewery may be having some issues, as every beer in the 6-pack was undrinkable, forcing me to tumble them all down the drain.

Detroit Beer Co.
http://www.sevenpack.net/ ?p=1722Hey guys. I know we don’t usually review brew pubs in these parts, but I went to an exceptionally good one tonight, and it’s my blog, so I figured I could break the rules a bit. So, I’m in Detroit this week for a bit of work-related hassle.

Pale ale from India?
http://www.brewha-ha.com/ pale-ale-from-indiaI had always wondered why an India Pale Ale was named after India when it was clearly a British style. Beer doesn’t deal well with heat, so India was an unlikely source of a new beer style (at least, pre-refrigeration). As it turns out, the heat is the key, but not for the reasons you might think.

New Holland Existential Ale
http://www.sevenpack.net/ ?p=1676I’m not sure if we can necessarily call this an India Pale Ale - it certainly isn’t labeled that way. But, frankly, I don’t know any other way to label a hop bomb, until we can figure out some new genre that is loaded with hop and malt and isn’t an IPA.

The Toronto Star in 60 seconds: Mens' club kitchens to IPA
http://www.slashfood.com/ 2008/ 07/ 04/ the-toronto-star-in-60-seconds-mens-club…Filed under: in sixty seconds While media has graced us with names like Julia Child, the world of high-buzz chefs is still dominated by men. However, there are some female chefs to take note of. If you're eating dinner in the sky, you better hope that you don't have to run to the restroom, and more importantly, that you don't drop your fork or knife.

Port Brewing 2nd Anniversary Ale
http://www.sevenpack.net/ ?p=1661I have enjoyed Port Brewing’s beers in the past (their Wipeout IPA ranks as one of my favorite IPAs) so it was with much joy I recently picked up their 2nd Anniversary Ale. Let me just say, this is probably the easiest beer review I have written so far.

Varieties Of Home Brewed Beer
http://www.articlescities.com/ 10742/ 2804/ varieties-of-home-brewed-beer/A categorisation of types of beer. Especially as it applies to the home brewer. There are almost as many classifications of beer as there are people who drink it. O.K. that’s something of an exaggeration, but it is a fact that commercial breweries produce an amazing variety of beers with different

Summer Means Beer. Lots and Lots of Beer!
http://jonsquared.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 06/ 29/ summer-means-beer-lots-and-lots-o…One thing I love about summer is that a cold pint of beer is such a euphoric experience on an especially hot day. Now, it’s no secret that I love beer. Guinness is my brew of choice at almost any occasion. Take me to a winery and I’ll be jonesin’ for a Guinness.

Straight to my brain
http://www.brew52.com/ 2008/ week24/ straight-to-my-brain/I met up with some Brew52′ers on Sunday where we sampled beer out on the patio. I started off with the Milk Porter which was super smooth, super creamy, and a bit too sweet for my taste. Then I had an 1800 IPA and it totally hit the spot. A really nice bite to it, but not too bitter.

Hop it
http://thebeernut.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ hop-it.htmlAfter their recent poor show with a raspberry beer, I was very glad to find Meantime's Pale Ale a return to form. I like this brewery and knew I wouldn't stay angry with them for long. At 4.7% this is a medium-strength ale, though is supplied in a 33cl bottle to save customers from the temptation of overindulgence.
