Conservative leader Rep. Jeff Flake has decided to run for a seat on the House Appropriations Committee. Readers of this blog will recall FreedomWorks’ campaign to support his previous run with our petition site Make It Flake. Unfortunately the House Republicans denied Flake the seat.

McCain Goes and Ruins Everybody’s Plans

    http://www.rumromanismrebellion.net/ 2008/ 11/ 19/ mccain-goes-and-ruins-everybo…

I heard the news that John McCain has gone ahead and filed the initial paperwork to run for yet another term in the US Senate in 2010. By the way, should he be re-elected and serve out his term, that would be thirty years in the Senate, edging out Henry Fountain Ashurst’s 29 years, but still dwarfed by Carl Hayden’s 42 years.

To anyone who thinks this election means the end is near: I’m happy to make a bet that Obama will win re-election with over 400 electoral votes. There’s several reasons for this. First, I’m confident that Obama will do at least a decent job (here’s my ten reasons to happy he won). [...]

    Looking at the 2010 Senate

    http://www.savethegop.com/ 2008/ 11/ 08/ looking-at-the-2010-senate/

Looking at the 2010 Senate Written by Sam on November 8th, 2008 With what is going to be at least a 57-43 Senate for the Democrats these next two years, and quite possibly a 60-40 depending on the results of recounts in Alaska and Minnesota and the runoff in Georgia, Republicans have their work cut

Time For Ron Paul To Reach Out To Sarah Palin And Reform The GOP

    http://libertymaven.com/ 2008/ 11/ 06/ time-for-ron-paul-to-reach-out-to-sarah-p…

The media is starting its barrage of attacks on Sarah Palin, reporting such things as her not knowing the countries involved in NATO or that Africa is not actually a country. The attacks may have some truth to them, and it seems like they are making large efforts to throw her under the bus so she is going to be far too damaged for a run for President in 2012.

Here’s his excellent op ed from the Washington Post: ********************************** A Way Out of the WildernessBy Jeff Flake Wednesday, November 5, 2008; A26   Well, we Republicans have just made history.

The Republican Defeat Is An Opportunity

    http://libertymaven.com/ 2008/ 11/ 05/ the-republican-defeat-is-an-opportunity/ …

Jeff Flake sees the glass as half full in his editorial regarding the GOP defeat in the Washington Post today. He suggests that Republicans go back to their first principles and reject the bloated spending of the Bush administration. To me that is easier said than done, and certainly easier said than believed.
