Jesus Christ

Tag details

Jesus Christ—a first-century Jewish leader, believed by Christians to be the Messiah and the Son of God—is one of the most popular topics on the web today.  A large portion of the blogosphere is run by Christians of various stripes and traditions, writing how Jesus’ teachings can be applied to different aspects of modern life—from interpersonal conflicts to family life to politics.  Some bloggers use their sites to worship Jesus, to explicate his teachings, and to evangelize unbelievers.

Other bloggers spend time debating “the historical Jesus.” These debates generally center around the Gospels, the four New Testament documents which the church has historically believed to be authoritative accounts of Jesus’ life. While some skeptics contend that the Gospels are historically unreliable, many Christian apologists can be found arguing for the historicity.

It is becoming increasingly common for church websites to include blogs, usually written by pastors, exhorting congregants to follow Jesus’ teachings throughout the week.
