Actor John Francis Daley (he plays “Dr. Lance Sweets” on Fox’s Bones) and Jonathan Goldstein are busy rewriting the comedy Burt Dickenson, Most Powerful Magician on the Planet Earth. (Let’s hope the name gets shorter, too.) The screenplay by Chad Kultgen follows a big-time Las Vegas illusionist who’s threatened by a younger “extreme magician.” Sounds fun!

I have been checking daily for news about the new Bones Season 3 DVD release date. The rumors had been that it wouldn’t be out until sometime in December. But today, they finally let us know that it will be released in the US and Canada on November 18, 2008.

Ok, not Dr. Sweets, exactly, but John Francis Daley, the actor who plays him. Daley got his start in show business by being a part of the TV series Freaks & Geeks. In fact, the show still has a cult-like follwoing, of sorts. You say you haven’t seen it? No problem! The entire series is now out on DVD.

John Francis Daley, aka Dr. Sweets talked to TV Guide at Comic Con about what his character will be up to in season 4. He says that the rest of the team will be “thoroughly annoyed” with Sweets “dissecting their minds.” Oh, cool! He says that he keeps in touch with people he knew from his time with Freaks & Geeks and is even venturing into comedy writing.

Oh, and I guess he's good looking (I'm a man's man and really don't look at those things.) That's probably a reason why so many women crowded into the huge Ballroom 20 for the Bones panel -- a panel that I was highly anticipating.
