Contrast begins to show... Last evening the four candidates for District 2 County Commissioner met with the Kitsap Sun Editorial Board. One of my immediate impressions is that contrasts are beginning to be defined between the four of us, and that the voters will have real choices in the primary elections, which occur in just about a month.

Check out this headline from the Kitsap Sun’s Code 911 police blotter: “Man Accused of Strangling Girlfriend.” When you see the verb “strangle” and its associated forms, do you interpret it as “choked until dead”? I certainly do, and in this case, that interpretation misled me.

What's Wrong With This Picture? *I can think of a couple things, but what do you see wrong with this picture? Of course, there is everything right with this picture: a young boy helping to place flags on this Memorial Day in remembrance of those who have served their country.
