LGBT
LGBT is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. The LGBT community is a diverse community of people embracing a variety of sexual identities that are alternatives to heterosexuality.
As a movement, the LGBT community encourages the rights and equality of all people despite their sexuality or sexual preferences. LGBT activists have fought for the right to marriage, which has been a main point of contention among many within the heterosexual community.
Like any community of activists, LGBT members encourage a renewed sense of tolerance and inclusion, with the hopes of gaining the same rights that heterosexuals are afforded.
