Started in 2000, Limewire focuses on file-sharing technology, specifically peer-to-peer networking, where users can share their music, video, and other multimedia and text files over the Internet. Limewire has received positive reviews for its product, including CNet Australia, Linux.com, and Music-Software-Reviews.com.
