The knock-on effects of last week’s terrorist atrocities in Mumbai are still being felt - India’s much-anticipated Live Earth concert has now been cancelled over public safety fears. Artist including Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters and Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am were all due to perform on December 7th.

It's unfortunate that - for most people - the only indication they'll have had that there was meant to be a Live Earth concert this year would have come when it got canceled following the Mumbai attacks.

The Live Earth India concert, which set to feature acts such as Bon Jovi, WILL.I.AM and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, has been canceled due to the Mumbai tragedy. Everyone involved in the canceled Dec. 7 event is “stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in our host city Mumbai,” said Live Earth founder Kevin Wall and the Office of Al Gore in a joint statement.
