Futuresource's "white paper", released yesterday and now being widely cited around the Web, says that one-third of all UK and US residents have copied pre-recorded DVDs in the last six months.

The news service also reports that Baird upgraded NCR (NYSE:NCR) to "outperform" from "neutral." Macrovision Solutions (NASDAQ:MVSN) was started as a "buy" at Kaufman Brothers, according to the AP.

Gemstar Shares Tumble Ahead Of Merger Vote Tomorrow

Back in December, the two companies agreed to a deal in which Macrovision will acquire GMST for $6.35 a share in cash, or 0.2548 of a share of Macrovision.
