We should feel sorry for them?
http://myzenarcade.com/ 2008/ 04/ 30/ we-should-feel-sorry-for-them/From StreetProphets I don’t know what I find the most tragic aspect of this case to be. That a child suffered and died a needless death. That the parents of the child had such a narrow and distorted faith that their actions led to that death. That those same parents now face charges and jail time on top of the anguish they must be feeling.

Parents charged in child's death
http://www.mothertalkers.com/ storyonly/ 2008/ 4/ 29/ 145930/ 184Cross posted at Street Prophets. I thought I couldn't get any sadder over the story of Madeline Kara Neumann, the 11 year-old Wisconsin girl who died due to untreated diabetes. I was wrong.

And they’ll get away with it
http://myzenarcade.com/ 2008/ 04/ 29/ and-theyll-get-away-with-it/They’ll almost certainly get away with it too. It really is our fault
http://myzenarcade.com/ 2008/ 04/ 29/ it-really-is-our-fault/Deep down inside, I know that Madeline’s death is our fault as a nation. We let them get away with it. We refuse to ever question anything about religious beliefs (unless you are a scientologist…). And, because of that, people continue to act without rational justification and we continue to say

http://myzenarcade.com/ 2008/ 04/ 29/ madeline-kara-neumanns-murderers-charged/Its OK, we killed our daughter because of our religion. Shouldn’t we get a free pass? A day before Madeline died, according to the criminal complaint, the father wrote an e-mail with the headline, “Help our daughter needs emergency prayer!!!!.” It said his daughter was “very weak and pale at the

Criminally Religious
http://www.agnostic-library.com/ ma/ 2008/ 04/ 28/ criminally-religious/I blogged earlier about the death of a girl at the hands of parents who knew she was sick but refused to get any medical care, hoping instead that prayer and faith would take care of her, and not really caring if she died.

Joel isn’t speaking to me anymore
http://www.timeimmortal.net/ 2008/ 04/ 18/ joel-isnt-speaking-to-me-anymore/Not directly, at least. Fortunately, Wordpress keeps an accurate list of inbound links. He has his own blog, and has decided to issue his response to my latest reply to him there. That’s just as well; he wasn’t doing all that well via the contact form.
