Harry Potter Move Still Being Felt - More Movies Shift Release Dates

    http://www.popcritics.com/ 2008/ 08/ harry-potter-move-still-being-felt-more-mov…

When Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince moved from November 21 of this year to summer of next year we knew that it would change the face of the fall release schedule. A Detailed Script Review of The Road

    http://www.popcritics.com/ 2008/ 08/ a-detailed-script-review-of-the-road/

Agentorange over at Quiet Earth has seen an entire 123 page version of the screenplay for The Road starring Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee. His review has given me even more reason to be utterly thrilled to see this movie.

    ... and I Feel Fine

    http://stevebetz.vox.com/ library/ post/ and-i-feel-fine.html?_c=feed-atom

So, one of the first “real” books I read as a teenager was “The Stand” by Stephen King. The idea of a de-populated America where good and evil clashed was an amazing world that was both repulsive and alluring simultaneously. Having grown up in ...

What I did on my summer vacation

    http://religion.lohudblogs.com/ 2008/ 08/ 25/ what-i-did-on-my-summer-vacation/

Well, I’m back. I did not pay close attention to the news (religious or otherwise) during my two weeks off, other than the Olympics. Who knew that beach volleyball could be so entertaining? Or that synchronized diving is a sport? Or that batons are so hard to grab? Were female gymnasts always so tiny? I did read a lot during my vacation.

Screengrab Fall Preview: Scott Von Doviak’s Picks

'The Road': The Book To Screenplay Comparison

    http://theplaylist.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ road-book-to-screenplay-comparison.ht…

A bunch of new photos from "The Road" hit the web last week so we thought this was as good a time as any to talk about the film since we just finished the book penned by Cormac McCarthy ("No Country For Old Men," "All The Pretty Horses") and the script adapted by Joe Penhall.

    finished McCarthy’s The Road

    http://www.orbis-quintus.net/ ?p=3400

Even though there are a stack of library books that are due tomorrow, and The Recognitions slunk back into the stacks, it seemed like the perfect afternoon to tackle The Road. It turned out to be freakishly easy to read, the kind of book one can breeze through in an afternoon.

Well, really it’s the post-apocalyptic period that’s interesting. Cormac McCarthy’s The Road is being made into a movie starring Viggo Mortenson. Perfect.
