Jeska Linden's hope for open-sourced servers didn't happen (although OpenSim is doing something very similar), and Izzy Linden's prediction of 20 million avatars didn't materialize (total registrations just topped 15 million). ...

    Here’s a fascinating piece from Saudi Gazette. It reports on efforts to create an energy grid that encompasses Europe and much of the Middle East, from North Africa to the Gulf. This region, in addition to the various oil fields, is also an area that receives intense solar radiation.
