The Pillar of Cloud, Pillar of Fire  aka the Eternal Flame was conspicuously AWOL on July 4th! Our Eternal Flame seems to spend most of its time unlit. What does this signify about our dedication to “Supporting Our Troops!” As the Independence Day weekend moves on, the smoke from fireworks has dissipated and the residue from our recent fireworks show have been cleared away.

Littlechickenman asked: Is there anything fun going on this weekend in San Francisco for the memorial day holiday? We like to go to see live jazz, anyone special playing that weekend? Any outdoor events? Cheap Beach Holidays.

  An annual ceremony takes place at the Memorial Student Fountain at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. The water to the fountain is turned off in November and is not turned until the Spring.

What was supposed to be the first sponsorship of its kind for Woman vVeterans of Tennessee was doused by downpours at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield and Cemetery on Monday. The rain failed to dampen the spirits of the servicewomen, who simply opened up dozens of red, white and blue umbrellas and kept on smiling.

As a Vietnam Veteran, I’ve been remiss in visiting this memorial in Angel Fire. I think I just don’t like to rehash that time of my life. However, in driving the Enchanted Circle this Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to video the crowds. There were many bikers at the memorial.

In doing some videos around the Enchanted Circle in Northern New Mexico this weekend, I drove (very slowly) through Red River. There was just enough room for the Jeep between the rows of motorcycles lining the entire main street through town. Tents with Barbecue, beer, leather goods and more were lining the sidewalks.
