Stop emailing me stuff to tout on CavLec. Please just stop. Books, reports, survey results, whatever… if I run into it in the ordinary course of business (meaning, in my regularly-read blogs or via my hybrid FriendFeed/Twitter network) and think it’s interesting, I’ll blog it.

I know this post is a bit disjointed. I wrote it in a bit of a rush this morning because I wanted to put it out there while I felt inspired to do it. I learned this lesson the hard way. I blogged about my breakup that started in February 2007, here, on Vox, and on Yahoo! 360. This was shortly before SXSW 2007.

The Christian Carnival is a weekly collection of some of the best posts of the Christian blogosphere. It's open to Christians of Protestant, Orthodox, and Roman Catholic convictions.

At number 7 in Total Politics' Top 100 Left-Wing Blogs: "Alternate Seat of YTR". That's apparently me. At number 100 in Total Politics' Top 100 Left-Wing Blogs: "The Yorkshire Ranter". That's also me. I thought personality went a long way, but it looks like looks have quite an impact.

In WTF I inquired about an apparent glitch in my WP dashboard and the disappearnce of the wysiwyg editor. I know enough about html that this is a minor inconvenience, and not a serious problem, although it has been impacting my ability to include pictures in a post, since I usually use the visual editor for image insertion.

Firstly, I received a note from Jenny, the Bloggess, this morning that told me that she had included my website as one of the featured blogs on Good Mom/Bad Mom's "BS Sunday" at MomHouston.com. My heart did this fluttery thing, and I hugged myself with a bit of sweet joy, and then I ran to the kitchen

Every once in a while, when I sit down to write a new blog article, I hesitate.  ”Don’t you want to do something fun?” I ask myself.  ”Wouldn’t it be more interesting to play a game, explore a hobby– anything besides work?”  Fortunately, this devil on my shoulder doesn’t last for long.

I believe very firmly in balancing the microcosm with the macrocosm, in calling out support to good people doing good work just as much as standing up against injustice. And that means backing up people who're building a better world and coming at it from new angles.

I have given up on Salon. This is not news to anyone who’s talked to me or read my comments on other people’s blogs. I occasionally read King Kauffman over there and the political reporting that does not come from the pen of Joan Walsh is normally interesting even if they try too hard sometimes to apply “insight” where none is warranted.

My own personal boss-lady comment re. the post below, since I do feel kinda responsible for the whole "official blog policy" thing in re. guest posters. Yeah, I'm not going along with "Barbie" or with the idea that the right "caused" Oklahoma with Waco etc.
