The Scott Pilgrim series from Oni Press is a recent discovery and brand new favorite of mine, and it’s the best comic-being-adapted-into-a-movie-by-Edgar-”Shaun of the Dead”-Wright-and-starring-Michael-Cera  that you haven’t read.

The Hollywood Reporter reported (heh) today and it was confirmed by Edgar Wright himself that super hottie Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined the cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The film will follow the adventures of Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera), a slacker teen, who aims to win the heart of dream girl Winstead.

Winstead will play Ramona Flowers in the adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's hit graphic novel series. by Larry_Chimp_Man This is movie is guaranteed to be awesome. Edgar Wright is pure genious, Michael Cera is the shit, and the source material is golden. Now Mary Elizabeth Winstead has entered the fray.

If the above, heavily-lipped, bespectacled child looks more than a little bit like Dwight Schrute of The Office, that's because it is. Just as Growing Pains opened with actual young shots of the cast under the crooning vocals of B.J.

Looks like Edgar Wright's (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) third theatrical film will indeed be an adaptation of the Oni Press Graphic novel Scott Pilgrim's Little Life - his first movie on American soil and first with a U.S. cast.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in negotiations to star opposite Michael Cera in the big screen adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead helmer Edgar Wright is set to direct based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Michael Bacal (who is also penning the fictional remake of The King of Kong).
