Today for the very first time I witnessed my 4 year old daughter IJ being taunted in the playground by two 5-year-old yobs girls. And it was absolutely devastating. It was as the children were playing together before the start of the school day.

The decision to hack off cut IJ's hair five minutes before the school run was possibly not one of my better ones. The fact that she was already in a bad mood, and protesting because she did not want to go to school, should have been an indicator that she was not going to stand still.
