Storyteller's Journey: Audra State Park and homeward bound

We stopped for a quick visit because we'd never been there--I'd visited years ago, but Larry had not seen this little gem of a park. The laurel bushes formed large groves, perfect wildlife habitat.

What passes for “Indian Paintbrush” in these parts: The out-West version is a totally different plant, and at least as beautiful. A mountain laurel blossom in Plainfield: These little blossoms, growing in clusters, are each little jewels, painted with a sort of peasant-blouse simplicity and happy detailing.

'Fess Up Friday
