    Author Interview: Laurel Snyder

    http://www.babygotbooks.com/ 2008/ 08/ 27/ author-interview-laurel-snyder/

I met Laurel Snyder, an author that lives locally, last year when we were on a panel together discussing books and the Web 2.0 world.  She has written several books, including two books of poetry, a children’s book, and she edited an anthology of nonfiction, Half/Life: Jew-ish tales from Interfaith Homes.  Her new novel for children was released yesterday.

More Notes From the Happy Hiker

    http://thommalyn.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ more-notes-from-happy-hiker.html

Had a wonderful hike today -- felt even better on this hike than on Sunday's hike. My improved eating habits are helping immensely to mitigate what I believe to be wonky gallbladder symptoms. Thank goodness. :) Here are some pictures of the woods and the trail: The mountain laurel blooms have passed their peak and most of them have wilted away and fallen off.

Storyteller's Journey: Audra State Park and homeward bound

    http://grannysu.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ storytellers-journey-audra-state-park.ht…

The mountain laurel was in full bloom at Audra State Park. We stopped for a quick visit because we'd never been there--I'd visited years ago, but Larry had not seen this little gem of a park. The laurel bushes formed large groves, perfect wildlife habitat.

    Some Summer Flowers.

    http://littlebangtheory.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 06/ 22/ some-summer-flowers/

Here are a few shots from the week just past. What passes for “Indian Paintbrush” in these parts: The out-West version is a totally different plant, and at least as beautiful. A mountain laurel blossom in Plainfield: These little blossoms, growing in clusters, are each little jewels, painted with a sort of peasant-blouse simplicity and happy detailing.

    'Fess Up Friday

    http://thommalyn.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ fess-up-friday_20.html

I can't believe it's 'Fess Up Friday again. Fridays come and go so quickly! Anyway, this has been a good writing week. Heart's Chalice continues to develop and come together, and this past week, I went ahead and began revisions in order to see how I ultimately want to round out the story.

Random Bits in the Life of TL

    http://thommalyn.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ random-bits-in-life-of-tl.html

    1. By way of completing the rough draft, I've gone ahead and begun revisions to Heart's Chalice. I can't round out the story unless I make some crucial changes first. So I'm working on that, and things are progressing. Broke 98K today. 2. The seventeen-year cicadas are here! I've heard them in the mountains, on my hikes, for several weeks now.
