Movie Review

Tag details

Most people love to talk about movies they've seen, even if it's to just give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. That accounts for much of the popularity of the tag movie review.

A movie review is an analysis of or commentary on a particular movie. Some sites compile reviews from a variety of sources, others ask readers for reviews and other sites use individual reviews. The tag may have broad usage, encompassing not only movies currently in theaters but also ones that are released on DVD. It will also cover the full spectrum of movies, from dramas to comedies to documentaries.

While one might consider being a movie reviewer one of the greatest jobs around, the quality of a movie review depends on knowledge of film as a whole or the subject matter of the movie.

    The TroughAuthority Authority: 137
Director John Lee Hancock who directed The Alamo and The Rookie plays it safe in this cry-on-cue biopic The Blind Side. It recounts the game-changing football moves of Michael Oher. This inspirational story is brought to us by a life of loss. A life that begins with no parents, no home, and separation from siblings. ...

This could well be my all time favorite. This book was rare. I appreciated how the words fell together and I also enjoyed not having to fight to understand all the words and text. The narrative itself is about forbidden love. And it comes complete with the standard storyline of girl falling for a boy she shouldnt and ...

Star Trek 2009 Usually reviewing a Star Trek movie is a object lesson in trepidation for me. The dust that has gathered on this franchise is deep and crusty. Questions arise like… Can I keep my Trekkie card if I admit I found the whole Next Generation crew’s movies a bit on the soapy and overly pretentious side? ...

My Life, Made Possible By Pop Culture...Authority Authority: 131
A lot of people I know-- myself included, if Im being completely honest-- have become pretty disenchanted, so to speak, with Will Ferrell and his particular brand of humor of late. It tends to be one-note (and a very shrill note at that!). However, the one film of his everyone can agree is clever, sweet, funny, ...

The Blind Side was an interesting movie for me. I am typically not much of a movie reviewer or critic because I watch a movie to be entertained. I notice when a movie has an excellent message and love to use movie portrayals as teaching points, but that is usually the end of [...]
