NBC

NBC is an American television network. Founded in 1926 as the Radio Corporation of America, it was the first major US broadcast network and obtained the FCC's first commercial TV station license in 1941.

Through more than 200 independently owned affiliate stations and 10 NBC owned and  operated stations, the network currently broadcasts about 5,000 hours of programming annually to 99% of all homes in the country with television sets. The home to popular and acclaimed 1990s series such as Seinfeld, Friends, and ER, NBC found itself fall from the number one network in terms of ratings to number four by 2004.

The network is part of the NBC Universal company, which is 80% owned by General Electric and 20% by Vivendi. Under the leadership of Jeff Zucker, President and CEO of NBC Universal, Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff direct the television operations as co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment and NBC Universal Television Studio.
