Everyone needs a little Christmas Heartbreak
http://stephdray.livejournal.com/ 364144.htmlIn the past few days, I somehow managed to add 6,000 words to "Primary Partners" because: It seemed very important to me that my heroine be in love with Mr. Wrong before realizing who Mr. Right is Essential that her calamitous romance should culminate in someone being dumped after a kiss under the mistletoe.

NANOEDMO Day 6: I wrote what?
http://stephdray.livejournal.com/ 363786.htmlThe Good News I'm six days into NanoEdmo and I have about 9 hours of editing of Primary Partners done. I rather like my main characters. They are quirky and a little goofy. The sexual tension is strong.

Now Dorlana is really stressing me out, because I have to write a fairy- tale inspired feature story for her blog this month as a guest.

National Novel Editing Month
http://stephdray.livejournal.com/ 363335.htmlIt's Day Four of Nanoedmo, the month-long quest to edit a novel. In my case, I'm going to edit the monstrous political romance novel I wrote in November, "Primary Partners." However, I haven't even cracked open the file. I'm being very resistant. So, I need to get cracking, and public accountability is step #1.

EdMo Day Two final hour tally
http://the-sundered-light.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 03/ edmo-day-two-final-hour-tally.…I did make it to six hours total - two yesterday and four today, but I didn't meet my second target of the end of chapter four. I'm about halfway through it and should finish it tomorrow. I've put it in a folder to take to work on in break and at lunch tomorrow.

NaNoEdMo begins
http://the-sundered-light.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 03/ nanoedmo-begins.htmlWell it began yesterday actually and so far I've logged 4 hours of editing. I hope to get in at least two more hours and reach the end of chapter four today on this first run through cursory edit. If I can get the whole cursory tightening edit done by mid-month I intend to go over it again using the advice from "Self-Editing for Fiction Writers" to sharpen the prose even more.

A 50 Hour Self-Editing Schedule
http://prokidwriter.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 03/ 50-hour-self-editing-schedule.htmlI've committed to spending 50 hours in March editing my work-in-progress YA novel. While at first glance a 50 hour commitment seems impossible, look how well it works when put into a schedule: March 1-2 : 2 hours : Get situated. Print out a hardcopy. Read draft and note any glaring problems, but mainly, read the thing.

Next challenges
http://miccoh.wordpress.com/ 2007/ 12/ 06/ next-challenges/I think I won’t talk about NaNo now. You can see my final word count on the right. [22] And NaNoFiMo is running and I’ve written about 0 words so I think I’m sleeping the rest of December and start writing again in 2008. In January or February, hmm… Battle for Wesnoth fanfic. Interesting.
