Walter Benjamin's Writing Tips
http://dobbs.typepad.com/ smoothpebbles/ 2008/ 08/ google-reader-5.htmlA fascinating man, a wonderful writer -- and to judge from his tips for writing, a person of stupendously rigorous habit. I stumbled across these at Marginal Revolution. I put my favorites in bold and a few comments in brackets. Use with caution.

http://marksarvas.blogs.com/ elegvar/ 2008/ 07/ nota-bene-the-g.html"I turn sentences around. That’s my life. I write a sentence and then I turn it around. Then I look at it and I turn it around again. Then I have lunch. Then I come back in and write another sentence. Then I have tea and turn the new sentence around. Then I read the two sentences over and turn them both around.

WALL•E and Wendell Berry
http://www.protestantpontifications.com/ ?p=657This take on Pixar’s WALL•E shows why libertarians are soulless and humorless. Rod Dreher sets things right and points out the film’s great virtues.
