    Sing for your supper

CHORAL! Last Choir Standing, BBC One, 6.00pm Although, as one forum user put it, it has essentially been filler telly inbetween new series of Strictly Come Dancing and whatever Andrew Lloyd Webber will get up to next, Last Choir Standing has had its charms.

    European F1 GP 2008, Valencia

    http://paultan.org/ archives/ 2008/ 08/ 30/ european-f1-gp-2008-valencia/

I have to say, the inaugural race at Valencia that transpired is a bit of a letdown. The track, albeit a street circuit, promised a lot more than it delivered in terms of racing. There were very little overtaking or wheel-to-wheel stuff. However, thanks to the Ferrari team, there were still plenty of controversies that will set tongues wagging.

Matt Higginson’s Camera August 29th, 2008 at 4:48 pm | posted by Virginia Simmons Matt Higgginson was in charge of local ONE volunteers for the DNCC all week and did an amazing job if I do say so myself. I thought posting some of the pics from his camera might give you a sense of what he was up to all week.

Well, today is the last work day in the month of August. It has been a month filled with travel, events, and writing. All of these things have shifted my perspective a bit and given me new reasons to be energetic about starting another academic year.

    So cool for (pre)school

    http://bathtubjunkie.net/ ?p=1130

When my mom left for the airport yesterday, I decided to take Lucas shopping for his preschool supplies. I thought that it might help take my mind off missing her (nope!). I’ve been *so* excited about this new milestone for him. It was our very *first* time shopping for school supplies! Of course, I took pictures.

“We have come to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. “

As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t write much about current events on this blog. I don’t feel as qualified as some of the great political bloggers I read. But every four years I get swept up heavily in politics and it’s almost impossible for it not to creep into my writing.
