    http://dynamicorange.com/ blog/ 2008/ 08/ 18/ vocabs/

Nadeem and I have been working on several ontologies (for RDF) over the past few months and are intending to publish all of them. The first to get published is an initial cut of AIISO (pronounced ey-s-oh pronunciation key), the Academic Institution Internal Structure Ontology.

    VoCamp

    http://kmforum.org/ blog/ ?p=88

VoCamp: Availability of vocabularies for describing data is a serious SW bottleneck - why not host a “VoCamp” and help grow the ecosystem of ontologies/vocabularies on the Web? To answer that need W3C, DERI International, and Talis are proposing a series of workshops.

    Geoconcepts Ontology v1.2 & v1.2_swrl

    http://www.geospatialmeaning.eu/ 2008/ 07/ 21/ geoconcepts-ontology-v12-v12_swrl…

We have developed a new Geospatial ontology within the CINeSPACE project. The main idea behind this ontology is a more ample model of the spatial dimension. Some concepts, such as country, mountain or building are inherently spatial.

    Semantic Web and End-User Programming

Semantic Web research is not an end in itself as without the combination with End-User Programming/Modelling in order that people can create programs; there is insufficient incentive for creation and use of Semantic Web information.

Computing Semantic Similarity Using Ontologies by Rajesh Thiagarajan, Geetha Manjunath, and Markus Stumptner is a new HP Lab Report.Determining semantic similarity of two sets of words that describe two entities is an important problem in web mining (search and recommendation systems), targeted advertisement and domains that need semantic content matching.
