Irish Times: “Holford has been a vegetarian for 30 years”. Has he?
http://holfordwatch.info/ 2008/ 10/ 01/ irish-times-holford-vegetaria/In the course of a truly dire article on Patrick Holford - ‘Eat Your Medicine’ - the Irish Times states that “Holford has been a vegetarian for 30 years”. This seems a peculiar claim: the Independent has previously referred to Holford eating fish, and the Health Products for Life web shop states that

Silence is not golden: more on Rath and the $50bn nutrition industry
http://jdc325.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 09/ 25/ silence-is-not-golden-more-on-rath-an…Yeah, I know - I’m boring you with this stuff now. I’m sorry, but I can’t let it lie. I really can’t understand why not one member of the $50bn Nutritional Therapy industry has come out and said what so clearly needs saying: “Matthias Rath’s actions in South Africa were unacceptable and his use of legal means to stifle debate inappropriate”.

Post #350: “If you think I have been overly critical, I would invite you to notice that they win”
http://holfordwatch.info/ 2008/ 09/ 21/ post-350-if-you-think-i-have-been-overly…This is our 350th post on HolfordWatch. Over the course of these posts, we have found a number of inaccuracies in Holford’s self-presentation and many serious errors in his work. These errors overwhelmingly remain uncorrected or inadequately corrected, and Holford has failed to respond to almost all

BANT – no opinion on Rath [updated]
http://jdc325.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 09/ 18/ bant-no-opinion/I’ve received a response from the British Association of Nutritional Therapists to the email I sent regarding the actions of Matthias Rath in South Africa. Reprinted below, minus names: Thank you for your email. BANT practitioners are expected to work alongside the medical practitioner and clients must not be led to believe that nutritional therapy replaces that medical care.

Gimpy and Paul Flynn MP on Patrick Holford
http://holfordwatch.info/ 2008/ 09/ 16/ paul-flynn-mp-on-patrick-holford/Gimpy has decided to deal with Patrick Holford on his excellent blog, arguing that the poor quality of Holford’s work is usually covered by the always-admirable Holfordwatch but Patrick does produce a surfeit…so this time round I think I will deal with it.

An open invitation to the ‘alternative’ medicine community: comment on Matthias Rath’s tactics
http://holfordwatch.info/ 2008/ 09/ 13/ an-open-invitation-to-the-alternative-me…While a number of sources have commented on Matthias Rath’s now-dropped libel case against the Guardian and Ben Goldacre - links are here - I am surprised to see that the ‘alternative’ medicine community seems to have remained silent on this*.

The Holford Low GL Diet trial: how was it conducted, and what were the results?
http://holfordwatch.info/ 2008/ 09/ 08/ the-holford-low-gl-diet-trial/A blog comment recently suggested that we’re not giving enough attention to the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, and as it happens I have recently been reading Holford et al’s article in the journal on low glycemic load diets.
