Performance

Performance art is art in which the actions of an individual or a group at a particular place and time constitute the work. Performance art is a term usually reserved to refer to a kind of usually avant-garde or conceptual art which grew out of the visual arts. The term live art is a synonym referring to the same field of practices.

Pushing the boundary limits and continuously researching on new possible means of expression is a strong signifier of this field of art. Performance art remains a constant way to rebel against establishment and institutionalization. 

Performance art has evolved in various strands. Recent interesting developments include so-called networked performance and distributed performance tactics. Authors of such works emphasize the use of social media technologies and independent media channels for content distribution, incorporating internet technologies into their work.
