    It’s rare that I can get my very active daughter to sit still for a portrait shot. So most times I just keep shooting until I get at least one that isn’t a blurry back of the head as she runs off. This day, however, she was in a more pensive mood and caught her in a moment of contemplation.

    If you happen to venture away from the security blanket of digital point & shoots or SLR cameras, try to remember that not all cameras allow you to “look” through the lens and see what the camera “sees”. Twin Lens Reflex (TLR), Viewfinder, and Rangefinder cameras all have this problem at close range, called Parallax Error.

    As I was doing some overdue DVD backups, I realized that my collection of photos has been growing at an exponential rate. Earlier backups (from 2002-2006) only required a couple of DVDs to hold all the photos. Then, each month in 2007 and 2008 has been progressively larger and larger, thus requiring more discs.
