Last night, GF and I were over our friends flat and after a bit of wine and fare it was 2am. So we left and walked home. Whilst walking across town, we witnessed a drag race between an Opel, a VW, and... wait for it... an Ambulance. Down the middle of the main street in Podgo, a drag race with an Ambulance as one of the participants.

I went for a haircut today, and really should have taken a before and after picture. I literally lost 2 pounds of hair. It is a perfect weather day here today. It seems like everyone in the city is outside, all the cafes have there tables out, and they are all packed.

While out on Saturday, GF and I took some pictures of some of our "neighbors". The first picture is of a chicken coup at one of the busier intersections on the way to the airport, and the bottom one is of a donkey from across town.

The one main not-so-supermarkets in town "Carine" (said as sar-En-eh) must have been taken over by another one, "Plus." However, this has lead to a sad moment, at the Carine in the middle of the city, they had adverts on the walls leading to the entrance of the store.

Podgorica _ Montenegro has called on international investors to help develop high-end tourism along its coastline. The appeal by the country’s Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Protection calls on investors to help draft a preliminary appraisal for construction projects in the area.

I have been trying to shop for presents for Xmas. However, we have two huge problems here in Podgo: 1. All prices are inflated because, and lets be honest about this, Podgo is not exactly the easiest to ship to, nor do they have a lot of volume to bring down prices. 2. There isn't a lot of variety here.

Today is Podgorica Day. It is sort of like the state of the city day for Podgorica. The city prints up a cool magazine with the latest developments in the city and civic achievements. So the mayor is our neighbor, and today is like his big day to go around the city and open up new buildings, break ground on others, and basically pat himself on the back for a job well done.

While Tim was off in Niksic administering exams, I was having an equally "exciting" day here in Podgo. I woke up to a call from the Embassy guards (I am duty officer this week so all after-hours crises come to me) telling me that they'd just received a call that there was an American who'd died in Montenegro...
