The final speaker at Pop!Tech 2007 was Van Jones, an environmental and civil rights campaigner based in California, who talked about his new project Green For All and talked about his push for “green collar jobs” to help lift kids out of urban poverty.

Sheila Kennedy, an architect and lecturer at MIT spoke about solar technology at Pop!Tech in 2007. Now she’s developed her ideas further. Her firm has been working on soft solar panels which could be used to help harvest sunlight and produce energy off the grid.

My regular readers know that the Pop!Tech conference, held in October in beautiful Camden, Maine, is one of the highlights of my year.
