Johnny Foreigner - Waited Up Til It Was Light

http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ johnny-foreigner-waited-up-til-it…
How the hell am I meant to start a review for pretty much the best and most important record not only of this year, but possibly even of this decade (well, out of music coming from this country, at least)? A complete, unqualified masterpiece of the already-familiar-from-demos and so much more. ...

The Becoming of G-d: What the Trinitarian nature of God has to do with Church and a deep Spirituality for the Twenty First Century

I am pleased to say, that at last, the book is available for purchase at £10 through YTC Press. This, my second book, seeks to explore the theology behind groups like Moot, Emerging & Fresh Expressions of Church.

Postmodern Fundamentalism: Is fire and brimstone the way?

Religion might thrive on ear-pleasing humor; the same can never be said of true Christianity, for the source of our faith spoke a great deal about Hell & damnation. If we are being honest in fulfilling the Great Commission, teaching believers all that Jesus has taught us, then our message should

    Commercial Break

    http://distopea.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ commercial-break.html

The Guardian.co.uk ran an angle on the quake recovery this morning that I thought was prescient. You can read the full article here. Increasingly, the powerlessness and vulnerability of the individual citizen, almost across the geo-political landscape, is getting amplified to heart-rending conditions.

    Executing th plan

    http://darrenb512.vox.com/ library/ post/ executing-th-plan.html

It seems that everything is moving according to the new plan.  Michelle is in negotiation with her school about how to get to college, Sherry is settling in to her new routine and I’m working on the goals that I set earlier in the year.

Luke 12 and the church parking lot

    http://jeffsdeepthoughts.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ luke-12-and-the-church-par…

I noticed some things that never occurred to me before in Luke 12.  I thought I’d share some of them.  “1Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Wandering in the Postmodern Dark Age

    http://parkerfitzgerald.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ wandering-in-the-postmodern…

Somehow, I can never seem to get to bed before 2:30am. I don’t really know why this is, but it happens and I think I have visibly aged as a result. Tonight, though, nothing particular is on my mind; well, nothing and then again everything.

    PYRITES OF THE CARRIBEAN

In Which Ye Author Most Shamelessly Plugs A NATURAL HISTORY OF MUSTIQUE The only place to read a Patrick O'Brian novel is lounging in the mizzen top of a brig like Astrid. Nowhere else can a landsman keep track of what the man is talking about. Running down the Windward Islands from English Harbor to Fort De France, I glanced...

    Ingo Meller

I guess this is as good a time as any to introduce you to Ingo Meller and what will seem like some very strange paintings. This guy's pretty cool because of his totally cerebral way of approaching painting. Ingo was born in 1955, lives in Cologne and studied in Germany with Eduardo Paolozzi and Daniel Spoerri.

This month we headed back to The Carolina Theatre for two outstanding interviews, Mr. Aaron Syrett, of the NC Film Commission, and Nic Beery of Beery Media and we screened Nic’s short film entitled, Nightlife. We first had the pleasure to sit down with North Carolina Film Commission Director, Aaron Syrett.
