Radiohead is a British rock group who first burst on the scene in the early nineties with the album Pablo Honey, whose single "Creep" gained fast airplay on the then-emerging alternative-rock radio format. Although this quickly got Radiohead tagged as "alt-rock," the band would go on to make several genre-defying albums.

After the album OK Computer was widely hailed as a masterpiece (to this day the album routinely shows up on best-of-all-time lists), Radiohead followed that up with Kid A and Amnesiac, two albums of stripped down, mostly electronic music. The live shows which followed only served to further enhance their standing as one of the world's biggest bands.

Most recently, Radiohead turned the record industry on its ear by initially releasing its 2007 album In Rainbows in a download-only format, urging its fans to pay whatever they wished by going to a website. There have never been firm figures to confirm the numbers, but most observers agree that the experiment was a success, and that the group turned a profit. In Rainbows was eventually released on CD in 2008.

Always a technology conscious band, Radiohead's fans in the blogosphere have followed their lead. They remix their singles on a number of websites, and blog at sites like ateaseweb and green plastic.
