The National Hockey League - The Red-Headed Stepchild of Professional Sports

    http://pleasekeepright.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ the-national-hockey-league/

In 1980, Lake Placid, N.Y. saw possibly the most influential moment in sports history. We all know the story. The men’s U.S. ice hockey team defeated the Soviet Union at the Winter Olympic Games. The victory for the U.S. unified a country, helped bring an end to the Cold War and told the greatest underdog story of all time.

The NHL conference finals begin tonight when Dallas clashes with Detroit, and tomorrow, when Pittsburgh and Philadelphia get at it. I’m sure there are still a few fans left who care. Folks on the Canada’s west coast stopped watching hockey more than a month ago, when their Vancouver Canucks imploded and missed the post season.

Rangers Offseason Blanketed With Many Questions

    http://blogs.msg.com/ gameon/ 2008/ 05/ rangers-clean-o.html

It's disappointing to realize, but the Rangers offseason is now upon us, and there are many questions the organization will need to answer. Of course the biggest question is what will the Rangers do about Jaromir Jagr? Decisions also have to made about Sean Avery, Michal Rozsival and Paul Mara, just to name a few.
