Puck - the MTV Real World graduate - class of '95 - had a jolt the other day. Puck, whose real name is David Rainey, made quite a name for himself as the eccentric bike messenger in San Francisco. He's best remembered for being unpleasant to housemate Pedro Zamora, who was dying of AIDS, and eventually Puck got kicked out of the house for rude behavior.

Details magazine did a real nice piece on The Real World and I thought I'd pass it on. What really struck me was the video they made on the cultural impact the show made on television (below). I can't believe they're already on Season 20! Nuts.

It's hard to pinpoint the exact moment at which The Real World lost its cultural relevance, but if you were to press us for an answer, we'd have to say it was when the greedy producers at MTV killed their golden goose by launching Real World: Philadelphia less than six weeks after the finale of Real World: San Diego aired.
