We are pending a referral from Ethiopia!!! They have been having power outage issues and have been trying to get through to us today. We heard from their office in MN they have a referral for us but because of the power issue they cannot get through! Pray for their power to be on so we can get our news.

Well, it is 5pm in Ethiopia. No word yet. I was really hoping I would get up this morning and have something in my inbox. Ok, well maybe tomorrow. The waiting is killing me. I took off the last entry. I am done with this. I will continue to report victories we have regarding the issue because its a part of our life thats very important.

7 months old. I am speechless and bawling. Her Ethiopian name is Haymanot which means FAITH. Beautiful. Enough said. ****UPDATE**** It will take approximately 2-3 months to get through the court system. I wish I could post a photo but due to privacy I cannot.

Like it was even a question!! She is a very healthy little girl, although teeny tiny for 7 months old. We are just on cloud 9, my husband even emailed he was excited. A man of few words that MDAD is, so thats a big deal. WoooHooooo! Now that we sent in our referral acceptance our dossier will be filed in their court system, and hopefully breeze right through.

First, my awesome friend Rachel (who should have her own professional organization business) came over today to do the initial nursery assault. The room was bad, bad and more bad. It was a disaster. After Rachel, numerous Rubbermaid totes and trip to our storage shed...waaa la!

We are approved. Our life (well, at least the written version of our life!) is being transported to America World Adoption Agency in Virginia. There it will be reviewed to make sure that all the information needed for Ethiopia is included. The home study will be sent back to Hope's Promise where it will then be sent to our Colorado State office.

Another full day of training on Saturday. Now I’m trying to remember what we talked about - medical issues (lice, scabies and all manner of fun things), traveling (we feel pretty comfortable with all of that), tips for after you get home, etc. Again we got to meet two different adoptive families.

This is another old post that I felt I wanted to bring over. I wasn't sure at first because I wanted this blog to focus on our adoption and this is a controversial subject. However, I have gotten away from the theme some and I have to express what I feel passionately about. This is absolutely right up there with adoption.
