So this time last year we were laughing our asses off at The Devil Bat. Rox rolls with the animals theme and gives us the 1977 Michael York/Burt Lancaster version of this film. As opposed to the phenomenally silly Val Kilmer/Marlon Brando version that came much later. BTW, Richard Basehart FTW.

There are so many things right about this 1956 production of Moby Dick, it’s a shame it is remembered for the one (debatable) thing wrong with it. As Captain Ahab, the bearded, one-legged, insanely obsessed whaler, Gregory Peck has often been called miscast.

Not really, of course. Joseph Losey’s pseudonymously-directed 1956 mystery was released as THE INTIMATE STRANGER (great title, and apt!) in the UK, and FINGER OF GUILT (sappy, generic title) in the US. So I’ve simply combined the two titles into one SUPER-TITLE. Richard Basehart plays the titular finger.
