Rick Pitino

College basketball coach Rick Pitino has been around. (And that's even before his restaurant fling with Karen Sypher.) It seems so long ago that he led the University of Kentucky to an NCAA basketball championship, but sure enough, that was all the way back in 1996. He's taken two other teams to the Final Four: Providence and Louisville. He even ventured into the NBA in short stints with the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics, where his "Larry Bird is not walking through that door" speech ranks high in the annals of coach press conference meltdowns.

All of that fantastic stuff, of course, is probably not what made Pitino extra famous on the Internet. No, that'd probably be his extramarital affair, complete with sordid details.

During an official investigation of an extortion/rape case surrounding the coach, Pitino told police that he had consensual relations with Karen Cunagin Sypher at a restaurant, but the Internet blew up on the news that he admitted giving her $3,000 to pay for an abortion. See, that's the kind of thing that'll make you well known in blogging circles.
