    Dressed To Kill

    http://tomatonation.com/ ?p=2654

Dressed To Kill August 25th, 2008 Maybe, back in 1980, Dressed To Kill got over via shock value. Almost 30 years later, in a world that's more savvy about trans issues, the "twist," such as it is, doesn't do much to hide how derivative and dawdly the movie is.

    Hit a Homer, Chevy Chase

    http://www.ecorazzi.com/ 2008/ 08/ 15/ hit-a-homer-chevy/

What’s more fun than watching Chevy Chase in old SNL reruns or running around on a golf course with a gopher? How about running around in a park for a game of softball? Tomorrow he’ll do just that in East Hampton, with fellow actors Lori Singer, Mercedes Ruehl and others for the annual Artists vs.

Random piece of movie dialogue about New York City of the day

    http://sophiesbar.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ random-piece-of-movie-dialogue-about.h…

"I'm tellin' ya, the crime rate in New York will kill ya. There's so many problems, you never feel like you're accomplishing anything. Violence, rip-offs, muggings. The kids can't leave the house. You gotta walk 'em to school. But in Amity, one man can make a difference.

Let's Look Back at the First Six Months of 2008

    http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/ article/ recapping_the_first_six_months_of_2008

Wild and wooly, there was little to love, but a lot to look forward to... A lot has happened in the past six months and while there may not have been very many good movies and there were plenty of bad ones there was much more to remember as well as a lot to look forward to.

J.A.F.O. - Blue Thunder still rocks.

Just Another Fucking Observer. In fact, with the amount of movies I've been watching, that would be a great name for this blog. This 80's action classic pops up on cable every so often, but I hadn't watched it all the way through in many years.

    The Pantheon of Macho-Fey

    http://brightlightsfilm.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 06/ pantheon-of-macho-fey.html

Sounds like some evil tournament Bruce Li would enter to find the man who killed his master, but no - "macho-fey" is a term coined by the celestial Kim Morgan (Sunset Gun) to describe the appeal of Roy Scheider/Bob Fosse in ALL THAT JAZZ. Fosse was, we must remember, a trailblazer in the art of being both a womanizing hetero-hedonist and a choreographer.

    Sorcerer (1977)

    http://www.goodnewsfilmreviews.com/ 2008/ 06/ sorcerer-1977.html

Should I see it? No. William Friedkin's remake of Wages of Fear starts out strongly and then drifts into a series of high tension scenes that fail to impress. Starring Roy Schneider, this film follows a group of distraught men who take a job delivering nitroglycerin across rough South American terrain.
