These United States are coming to the 930 Art Center on April 4th & to The Dame on April 5th. These guys made Daytrotter’s “Best 15 Albums of 2007” at 13, with their album The Forest and the Garden. They have another one coming out entitled “A Picture of the 3 of us at the Gates of Eden” (March 4th).

Review by Clay Wilkey: The capacity crowd arrived early in anticipation for what would undoubtedly be a great show. It was cold outside, bitterly cold, but no one seemed to mind. By the time showtime rolled around the place was worked into a frenzy.

These get a bit repetitive. I didn’t move around as much as I did with Margot. I was basically just going for one solid wide frame. I have some decent tighter stuff, but over all these aren’t awesome. What’s your favorite? Also, check out the Scourge on their myspace.

Mary Margaret and I went to see the Scourge of the Sea at the Dame Saturday night. I found out about the Lexington natives my freshman year and have seen them play twice now. I love their shows. They’re music is pretty chill. They really let loose on their last song, Chocolate Chips.

Funny where you find things out sometimes. I remember first reading about the incident where the girl had her legs cut off by the ride at Kentucky Kingdom on Digg. Well, tonight I found out about New York’s Murder Mystery playing the Dame not by any local resources, but thanks to 5 Acts.

I just have to say it again: I love Last.fm! I’ve found so many great bands through recommendations from this web service, and I’ve "met" so many great people with the same taste in music as me through the site. Why do I have to tell you this again? Well, - it could be because I just found another fine band through a recommendation from my last.fm-friends.
