Sharon Stone

sharon stone has been acting since 1980.  She was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the film Casino (1995).  She didn't win, but did receive a Golden Globe Award for it.  In 2003 Sharon won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress - Drama Series in the TV show The Practice.

Her notoriety is larger for her collection of Golden Raspberry Awards, a.k.a. Razzies,  as well as the role of Catherine Tramell in the 1992 movie Basic Instinct.  Razzies are given to (dis)honor the worst work in films in any given year.  Nominated nine times, she won three, both as Worst Actress and Worst Screen Couple.  The scandal behind Catherine Tramell has followed her since the film's release.  As her character is being interrogated by police, she is seen crossing and uncrossing her legs and it's apparent that she is not wearing any underwear.   Stone has stated that she was unaware just how explicit the infamous shot would be and while attending a screening she became so outraged that she slapped director Paul Verhoeven.  Verhoeven claims that there was no trickery involved and sharon stone lied to the press.

As of 2008, she and her ex-husband Phil Bronstein were involved in a bitter custody battle over their adopted son.
