The School of Everything
http://remoteaccess.typepad.com/ remote_access/ 2008/ 05/ the-school-of-e.htmlWhat would be the impact on education if students were offered a choice of coming to our buildings or not? Or maybe lets not even think that radically. What would be the impact on education if, for at least a portion of their day, students could form classes around their interests and request that they be given an expert to work with them?

New Media is all about conversation. Spam NEVER talks back.
http://abuggedlife.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ new-media-is-all-about-conversation-spam-n…I recommend Stowe Boyd’s post on PR Spam. In the Philippine context, what he’s saying is that PR practitioners should engage bloggers and journalists through social tools like Twitter or Facebook, and not through the email inbox. That way, it looks more like an invitation to join in on the conversation, with our time well spent in listening to a pitch.

My Social Map and Tips for Creating Yours
http://lifestreamblog.com/ my-social-map-and-tips-for-creating-yours/My Social Map and Tips for Creating Yours May 12, 2008 A while back Loic Le Meur wrote a post discussing how his social map is decentralized. He also urged others to create their own social maps. Several folks have since created them using wildly different visual ways to interpret and display them using a variety of tools.

Top Down Selection: Sifting For Quality Information
http://www.leveragingideas.com/ 2008/ 05/ 12/ top-down-selection-sifting-for-qua…When I was young we used to have a blast in Florida scooping up gobs of beach sand in a sifter and then shaking out the sand in hopes of finding a shark’s tooth. Now, I find myself doing the same thing with information. Clearly there is more tech information available than one can reasonably consume in a day, or a lifetime.

Stoweboyd in the Past Two Weeks
http://mskpetigo.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ stoweboyd-in-past-two-weeks.htmlStowe Boyd is one person I admire a lot, not because of how he looks but the output of his soft issues. He has a visionary and down to earth style of presentation. He is a thought leader and had been paving the way for others to follow (this is shown in his twitter stats of more followers that

My Reality Check: Backlash Against PR
http://vineberg.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ my-reality-check-backlash-against-pr.htm…Over the past year, several prominent tech journalists and bloggers have complained against PR people who would appear to spam them with irrelevant pitches. Tech blogger Stowe Boyd wrote a post titled, "The Growing Backlash Against PR Spam, And The Rationale For MicroPR." He writes, "The root cause

The increasing incidence of coincidence
http://smallworldwonders.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ increasing-incidence-of-coincid…I had a great day meeting brilliant minds in London - pretty much back-to-back. I found myself free (after emap meetings) at 4pm so looked up Jonathan Macdonald - a mover and shaker at Blyk. He was free so we met. Turned out he'd come from a meeting with three emap people. One I had seen earlier the same day, too.

Micro Broadcast is Still Broadcast, and Public Relations Can't Scale Down
http://allied.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ micro-broadcast-is-still-broadcast-and.htm…Micro Broadcast is Still Broadcast, and Public Relations Can't Scale Down Stowe Boyd continues the New PR conversation here, giving me a shoutout and a bit of calling me 'out-my-name' here. So I'm obliged, having survived the tornadoes of the Southeast, to respond with some more thoughts about PR and why it isn't working for bloggers -- and web 2.0 and technology bloggers specifically.
