On 21 April 2008, Toronto Dominion Bank (TD Bank) detailed its expectations concerning the impact of the Commerce Bancorp Inc. (Commerce) acquisition, completed on 31 March 2008. The acquisition is expected to yield pre-tax cost synergies of US$310 mn by the end of FY 2009, and has raised its FY 2008 net profit target for the US Personal and Commercial Banking segment.
