Is Buchholz Heading Back To Pawtucket?
http://www.fenwayfanatics.com/ content/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ is-buchholz-heading-back-t…For Theo Epstein and the Boston Red Sox, this was not the plan going into the 2008 season. Forced to shelve Curt Schilling until at least the All-Star break and start the season with Josh Beckett on the disabled list, Boston had no choice but to thrust rising talent Clay Buchholz back into the limelight as the club’s fifth starter.

Julio Lugo: Another Sunk Cost At Short?
http://hometown9.com/ boston-red-sox/ julio-lugo-another-sunk-cost-at-short/Ever since the eleventh-hour deadline deal that shipped Nomar Garciaparra off to the Cubbies as part of a three-way trade machination and, along with it, sent a Red Sox fandom into knee-jerk hysteria—then eventual baseball ecstasy three months later—general manager Theo Epstein has aggressively engaged in a seasonal pursuit for Boston’s next long-term shortstop.

Weekend Recap
http://nyycolbysox.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ weekend-recap_12.htmlDarrell Rasner is a pretty good pitcher, and the Yankees should be very thankful for the stability he's brought to the rotation. He doesn't have the stuff to be great, but he throws all five of his pitches (2-seam fastball, cutter, curveball, slider, changeup) for strikes, and he does so with pinpoint location.

Dragnet Sunday Spectacle: Sox at Twins
http://www.whomadeyoumirabelli.com/ dragnet-sunday-spectacle-sox-a.phpBeing the MLB Sunday game of the week has both its advantages and disadvantages. Everyone in the country gets to watch it on ESPN. That's an advantage. The ESPN announcers are completely insipid. That's a push, because when they aren't so dross that you want to poke your ears out, they tend to spread horrendously inaccurate information or names.

Really, How Good is Theo
http://brian.bakshi.us/ 2008/ 05/ 10/ really-how-good-is-theo/Watching Julio Lugo make eleven errors this year you realize once again that Red Sox GM Theo Epstein doesn’t know the value of money. He is so fortunate to work for a franchise that outspends everyone but the Yankees. Every year Theo throws money away on people who are either lesser talents or ill prepared to play under the pressure in Boston.

Americans finally considering GW trade to Baghdad
http://dencotton.nationalsportsreview.com/ 2008/ 05/ 05/ americans-finally-consi…Politics can be a lot like sports, but not nearly enough — as far as I’m concerned — when it comes to hiring and firing of the people who manage the land; your land; my land. When someone isn’t getting the job done in baseball — batting average dropping below .200 — they usually get benched or traded.

April Farm Report: A Master and His Bard - Part 1
http://hometown9.com/ boston-red-sox/ april-farm-report-a-master-and-his-bard-pa…There’s a reason why many Red Sox followers remained hesitant when it came to the discussed but never-to-be trade for ace lefty and change-up king Johan Santana this past off-season. Just call it prospect envy.

I hate Julio Lugo. I HATE HIM.
http://umpbump.com/ press/ i-hate-julio-lugo-i-hate-him/I have a problem. I. Hate. Julio. Lugo. I hate the stupid sub-.300 OBP he had last year. I hate the stupid hitting streak he’s on right now, because I know he’s just doing it to be even more of a $%@#$ later. I hate his enormous bug-eyes that stare so widely AND YET STILL MISS THE BALL.
