Trucks
A truck is a motor vehicle that is most commonly used for carrying goods and materials. Some trucks are used primarily as passenger or recreational vehicles, while other trucks are designed for commercial uses and are built for long-hauling and heavy transport.
The history of the truck reportedly starts in Germany where Gottlieb Daimler created the first 4 horsepower pickup in 1896. Manufacturers worldwide started producing trucks shortly thereafter. Today, trucks are the second most popular vehicle in the world behind cars. The blogosphere is full of information on trucks ranging from truck history to mechanics to long haul trucking.
Owning and operating a truck in North America incurs additional fees including fuel costs (usually gasoline or diesel), and auto insurance, which is needed in most areas to lawfully operate the vehicle on public roads. Trucks are not going away anytime soon: the future of the truck and all vehicles is moving toward hybrid vehicles using green energy.
