http://www.chrisbrogan.com/ 25-ways-social-media-prepares-you-for-the-downturn/
It’s easy to feel a bit glum with all the financial news. People are worried about their futures. They’re unsure where to put what little money they have left. Everyone is wondering what comes next. http://thesimiandowntimeanalyst.com/ 2008/ 08/ 31/ did-not-know-it-was-blog-day/…

It is Blog Day and I am ashamed I had no idea until I saw a post on Roundpeg. On blog day, the thing is to showcase 5 new blogs that you like and to let them know that you gave them a shout. I’m going to just list the blogs sans description, so its a surprise when you get there. THE LIST: 1.

    Twitter Deleted My Account

    http://getanewbrowser.com/ 2008/ 08/ twitter-deleted-my-account/

Woke up today and went to check out how the #dmtweetup was last night to find that my Twitter account had been deleted. Not cool, right? Apparently I have violated the Terms of Service? It appears I was not the only one… We’ve found that around seven accounts were accidentally suspended.

How NOT to Handle Customer Service via Social Media

    http://whatisnoise.com/ 2008/ 08/ how-not-to-handle-customer-service-via-social-…

Let’s say you’ve got an online service with millions of users and the service can be used for customer service, and in fact is used for customer service by a growing number of companies. Twitter is a perfect example, and I am going to use them as a small case study for how to NOT handle customer service online.

Twitter Just Deleted/Banned My Account! WTF??!

    http://whatisnoise.com/ 2008/ 08/ twitter-just-deletedbanned-my-account-wtf.html

I was on Twitter a bit ago and something was acting funny. I couldn’t see what I had updated under, “What you’re currently doing” or whatever it says. I figured to move on and go back to my work. Just another Twitter bug. Then I go to the Twitter page again about 20 minutes later to find that I’m logged out.

    Twitter StreamGraph

    http://www.blogschmog.net/ 2008/ 07/ 16/ twitter-streamgraph/

The first argument one has in introducing people to Twitter is that the service is more than the sum of its tweets. Once people discover that—usually only after following some friends they already know and using something other than the web to access the content—the next challenge is in showing that Twitter is more than just a social network.

Copying Another Website's Terms of Use Can Lead to Trouble

    http://ecommercelaw.typepad.com/ ecommerce_law/ 2008/ 06/ copying-another.html

Public Knowledge has highlighted a number of instances (most notably, instances involving Twitter and Adobe) in which e-commerce companies have failed to undertake the analysis and thoughtful drafting required to develop customized Terms of Use and, instead, used generalized terms or simply "borrowed" the Terms of Use posted at another company's website.

Twitter not upholding Terms of Use: Why important?

    http://www.netfamilynews.org/ 2008/ 05/ twitter-not-upholding-terms-of-use-why.h…

Last week I wrote that two cases put the spotlight on sites' Terms of Service, and - whatever legal scholars say (I'll get to that in a minute) - this is a good thing. It's good because it sheds light on one part of the social Web that needs public awareness. Now a timely illustration.
