    http://www.domainnamenews.com/ up-to-the-minute/ clarifications-on-om-policies/ …

In an announcement earlier today, Qinetics was awarded the contract to run the .OM registry.  DNN contacted the press agent on the matter to follow up with a few question. Will the registry be opening the registration to a global customer base or will the .OM extension only be available to residents of Oman ?

Don’t Look Stupid: Six Grammar Errors to Avoid While Blogging

    http://www.spinfield.com/ 2008/ 10/ 02/ dont-look-stupid-six-grammar-errors-to-a…

Writing for a business blog or other social media should be simple, conversational, and above all informal. It’s OK to stretch grammar rules a bit in order to write in a relaxed tone. However, there is no excuse for sloppiness. An incorrect word, misplaced punctuation, or run-on sentence might repel potential clients.

    needs improvement

    http://molls.vox.com/ library/ post/ needs-improvement.html?_c=feed-atom

I just got back from a coffee date with Ed and decided to re-read my road trip post to make sure that I didn't make any errors too egregious to be left unedited. Good thing I did, because upon checking I realized that I made mistakes that wouldn...

Sometimes there's a perfectly acceptable excuse for making a typo.

No, I have not taken complete leave of my senses.Yes, there really is a time and place when making a typo is acceptable, understandable, and not mockable (not even by snarky little me).I'm The Grammarphile, and I've decided (because, of course, I totally have the authority to do so) that if something

    Nelly’s Typos

    http://blog.defgrip.net/ 2008/ 09/ nellys-typos/

I love The Fader blog because it calls out exactly what they love and hate, usually with humor and in a very matter-of-fact manner, yet with eloquence. They couldn’t find anything good or entertaining about the music on Nelly’s new album, so they discussed all of the typos they found on the album art, pointing out that “copy editing is to hip-hop what kryptonite is to Superman”.

    When Typos Attack

    http://www.stereohyped.com/ when-typos-attack-20080926/

Oops! At least it wasn't a "y": "The president of an Iowa college says he's sorry about an unfortunate and offensive typo in a school handbook. A calendar entry for Feb. 16, 2009, was supposed to read 'Black History Lunch and Learn.' Instead, it says 'Black History Linch and Learn'… The handbook was distributed to about 10,000 students before the mistake was discovered.

Because of an editing error, a letter by Hal Rowland on Sept. 22 read “yellow citizens” when it should have read “fellow citizens.” Link

Those Yahoos really suck at proofreading...

    http://redpeninc.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 09/ those-yahoos-really-suck-at.html

There are so many people in Texas whose minds are on serious things, like fixing up their damaged homes...but apparently the folks writing about the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Ike have golf on the brain. Seriously...golf. Like golf...of Mexico. Sigh. *headdesk* *headdesk* *headdesk*

All in favor of proofreading, say aye!

Despite a little problem called alleged forgery, Kelly Timilty may be one step closer to winning re-election to the Massachusetts Governor’s Council after all. She’s not, however, any closer to winning the race for Governor’s Proofreader, as this postcard from her campaign shows: Timilty may know

The best candidate for the job?

    http://mightyredpen.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 09/ 16/ the-best-candidate-for-the-job/…

MRP received this mailing from the campaign of Kelly Timilty, who is running for re-election to the Governor’s Council here in Massachusetts. Here’s the typo that caught my eye. Compare: Not just any typo. A typo in the candidate’s name. I think you can see why it would be hard to vote for such a candidate.
