You may be thinking, “Wait, did I already read this post?” Congrats, you are not crazy, this is a sequel to Paint Worth the Price? After my previous posts, I received a lot of good input from fabulous readers like yourself, who recommended Kilz Primer, since my experience with Valspar left me wanting more.

A quiet hurray: Our Valspar campaign was given a bronze Effie last night in New York. A large number of us were there to receive it. As it happens, our category, “new products/campaigns” also had in it the launch work for a little gadget called Wii. Understandably, Wii grabbed gold as well as the Grand Effie.

We love witnessing the This Young House ripple effect firsthand, so when two of our lovely readers sent us pics of their very own transformations we couldn’t have been more excited. So without further ado here’s Erin’s new CB2 pendant hanging proudly above her dining area.

I used four different brands of paint on various components of the room in order to evaluate which paint brand was worth using in the future.

In this case, the fifth time was the charm. As in 5 coats later our front door looked fabulous, darling. In fact, the color is Valspar’s Fabulous Red and let’s just say the name isn’t an over-promise. Although if I were gonna do it all over again, I definitely would have primed over the existing black paint first.
