Testing Color Contrast for WCAG 1 & 2

    http://www.joedolson.com/ articles/ 2008/ 05/ testing-color-contrast/

Some time ago, while pondering whether web accessibility posed limitations on design, the thought occurred to me that there are presumably some colors which simply cannot be used for text or text backgrounds in any site. WCAG 1 does not, in fact, provide any specific guidelines concerning color contrast.

    No Mistaking It

    http://dotmobi.typepad.com/ dotmobi/ 2008/ 05/ no-mistaking-it.html

You've been hearing us talk about "dotMobi Thinking" for months now. The ideas behind good mobile web sites are simple but the execution isn't always so easy. Many of us are still thinking of mobile web sites as small versions of their PC-counterparts. That's simply the wrong approach.

    http://nhokanson.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ school-of-everything/

This is an interesting idea and site:  School of Everything.  “The Big Idea” for the site is as follows: THE BIG IDEA “Our current education system was designed in the industrial revolution to prepare people for factory work. The world has changed a lot since then - and the time has come to rethink education from the bottom to the top.

Investing in - and Investigating - The Wrong Things

Yesterday I asked a VC I know if he would take a peek at a company I am advising.  He answered: I can say that the words “social network” are slightly taboo in the venture community right now, but if the site is interesting and the traffic is compelling I would take a look.

    http://opengardensblog.futuretext.com/ archives/ 2008/ 05/ mobile_web_20_w_2.htm…

Juniper research claims that by 2013 Mobile Web 2.0 will be worth $22 billion dollars. Having co-authored the book Mobile Web 2.0 alongwith Tony Fish .. I should be happy .. But I am not. There appear to be two obvious flaws in this line of thinking ..

    Hello Google DocType, Goodbye WebDevOut

    http://blog.codedread.com/ archives/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ hello-google-doctype-goodbye-…

Poor WebDevOut. All that time and effort into resource sites like that and Google comes along with Google Doctype - with an aim to be the definitive, community-driven source for all documentation about the open web development.
