Wedding Planning

A wedding planning or bridal consultant is a service profession who assists with the planning, organizing and implementation of weddings and related events. A wedding is a legal ceremony joining two people in marriage. The legal requirements for a wedding include a marriage license and an officiant to perform the ceremony. There are approximately 2.5 million weddings each year in the US with an average budget of $20,000 making it a $40 billion a year industry. Studies indicate that 1 out of 2 brides will use a wedding consultant, planner or wedding day coordinator.

The wedding planner can manage vendors like cake bakeries, bridal salons, photographers, videographers and florists. The wedding planner usually works for a flat fee or a percentage of the wedding budget. The wedding planner is often responsible for managing the wedding budget and keeping deliveries and expectations on track.
