Goliath, a quasi-mumblecore tragi-comedy by the Zellner Brothers of Austin, TX plays this weekend at the Independent Film Festival of Boston. The indie feature, about a man who loses both his wife and his beloved cat in the same harrowing year, was first reviewed here at The Screengrab by Scott Von Doviak during the 2008 South-by-Southwest Film Festival.

In Chicago, the lonely architect Alex Wyler has a troubled relationship with his father Simon Wyler. In 2004, he buys an old glass house in a lake, designed and built by his father, and he finds a message in his mailbox from the former tenant, the also lonely Dr.

I’ve now made just over one hundred posts to this blog, and I’m up to one hundred books read in this civil year. 99.The Cave of the Yellow Dog by Byambasuren Davaa & Lisa Reich This is a very well written and intriguing book.

Remember DMX? The man behind Get At Me Dog and Year of the Dog (and presumably many other canine friendly titles)? Well, he’s back…and making waves once again. Should we give him a break? Seeing as though word is he fell off the radar after it became public that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder?

My year, once again! Only takes twelve of these 365-day-thingies for it to come back around. I have been eagerly anticipating its arrival, hoping to really milk the most out of it this time. The last time it was the Year of the Rat, life unleashed some pretty awesome things on me.
